Acoustic Folk Art 1, Track 5, 03:23
For Every Summer
I looked at you
And it made me wonder
Would you be the one
For every summer, fall and winter
And in the springtime
I’ll thank God that you’re mine
Morning and evening
Every breath that I’m breathing
You held my hand
And it made me wonder
Would we walk like this
For every summer, fall and winter
And in the springtime
I’ll thank God that you’re mine
Morning and evening
Every breath that I’m breathing
Through every passageway
That life may bring
For every night and day
I will wear your ring
I’ll wear your ring
I touched your face
And it made me wonder
Would I see your smile
For every summer, fall and winter
And in the springtime
I’ll thank God that you’re mine
Morning and evening
Every breath that I’m breathing
I looked at you
And it made me wonder
Would you be the one
For every summer
I looked at you
And it made me wonder
Would you be the one
For every summer, fall and winter
And in the springtime
I’ll thank God that you’re mine
Morning and evening
Every breath that I’m breathing
You held my hand
And it made me wonder
Would we walk like this
For every summer, fall and winter
And in the springtime
I’ll thank God that you’re mine
Morning and evening
Every breath that I’m breathing
Through every passageway
That life may bring
For every night and day
I will wear your ring
I’ll wear your ring
I touched your face
And it made me wonder
Would I see your smile
For every summer, fall and winter
And in the springtime
I’ll thank God that you’re mine
Morning and evening
Every breath that I’m breathing
I looked at you
And it made me wonder
Would you be the one
For every summer
Song Notes
I don't sit down with intent to write a song very often. An idea comes along in one form or another, I start to hum and occasionally a song is born. This one was a little different. My sister was getting married and she asked me to write a song for her wedding. I told her I'd see what I could do and came up with For Every Summer. Since then, it's been performed in other weddings over the years. I really like the cello ending on this one performed by Peter Grimes.
