Acoustic Folk Art 3, Track 2, 03:08
Milkweed & Helicopters
Felt you kicking in your mama's womb
I suppose you may be needing room
Looking forward to meeting you soon
Milkweed and helicopters
Flying in the wind
I'll do the best I can to help you grow
Try to teach you
What you need to know
Give you all the love that's in my soul
Milkweed and helicopters
Flying in the wind
There's so much I want to say
I suppose we still have time
I hope one day
That you will understand
Life seldom turns out
Quite the way we plan
But God still loves you
And He holds your hand
Milkweed and helicopters
Flying in the wind
There's a lifetime ahead of you
Though we don't know how long
Or what you'll go through
To be loved and to feel the pain
To lay in the sunshine
And walk through the rain
The day will come
When you will say good-bye
For everyone
There comes a time to fly
And you in turn
Will learn to answer why
Milkweed and helicopters
Flying in the wind
There's so much I want to say
I suppose we still have time
Felt you kicking in your mama's womb
I suppose you may be needing room
Looking forward to meeting you soon
Milkweed and helicopters

Song Notes
This song was written when we were expecting our second child. Everyone tells you not to blink. That your kids will be grown before you know it. That you should take in every day while you can. It's true and I'm grateful for every day shared. I've always admired Harry Chapin's 'Cat's In the Cradle.' This song has similar themes, but also goes different places.
