Acoustic Folk Art 4, Track 1, 03:00
Sincerely
Did not know I was looking for love
Thought I wanted just to find a friend
How was I to understand
All my searching
Would soon end
Dark brown hair
Down on your shoulder
Tenderness in your eyes of blue
And I know that as we grow older
I’ll always love you
And I'm thinking about you tonight
Wherever you are far away from me
And I'm praying that you're alright
I love you sincerely
Now you hold our babe in your arms
Giving her life from your own
And I ask the God who I serve
Bring me safely home
And I'm thinking about you tonight
Wherever you are far away from me
And I'm praying that you're alright
I love you sincerely
If you find the Big Dipper
You can find the North Star
When you look up in the sky
I'll know right where you are
As you watch the sun go down
All the color in the sky
I will find you in my mind
By the color in your eye
And I'm thinking about you tonight
Wherever you are far away from me
And I'm praying that you're alright
I love you sincerely
Did not know I was looking for love
Thought I wanted just to find a friend
How was I to understand
All my searching
Would soon end
Dark brown hair
Down on your shoulder
Tenderness in your eyes of blue
And I know that as we grow older
I’ll always love you
And I'm thinking about you tonight
Wherever you are far away from me
And I'm praying that you're alright
I love you sincerely
Now you hold our babe in your arms
Giving her life from your own
And I ask the God who I serve
Bring me safely home
And I'm thinking about you tonight
Wherever you are far away from me
And I'm praying that you're alright

If you find the Big Dipper
You can find the North Star
When you look up in the sky
I'll know right where you are
As you watch the sun go down
All the color in the sky
I will find you in my mind
By the color in your eye
And I'm thinking about you tonight
Wherever you are far away from me
And I'm praying that you're alright
I love you sincerely
Song Notes
This song came along soon after our first child was born. I was on a business trip to New York and was thinking about my wife and daughter at home. I've since wondered if the song might bring some sense of healing for those who remember loved ones or friends they've lost through tragedy or other circumstances.
