Acoustic Folk Art 2, Track 7, 01:16
Such As These
People brought their kids to Jesus
To receive His blessing
His disciples tried to stop them
Jesus began sharing
"Let the children come to me"
That’s what Jesus said
Kids see much others miss
They know God’s not dead
"For the kingdom of heaven
Belongs to such as these"
"Let the children come to me"
That’s what Jesus said
"Let the children come to me"
That’s what Jesus said
People brought their kids to Jesus
To receive His blessing
His disciples tried to stop them
Jesus began sharing
"Let the children come to me"
That’s what Jesus said
Kids see much others miss
They know God’s not dead
"For the kingdom of heaven
Belongs to such as these"
"Let the children come to me"
That’s what Jesus said
"Let the children come to me"
That’s what Jesus said
Song Notes
This little song was written for the kids at out church. The song is mostly based on a passage in the book of Matthew, Chapter 19: 13-15, in which people bring their children to Jesus to receive his blessing. This song has the distinction of being the shortest song in the Acoustic Folk Art series, coming in just ahead of If by two seconds; however If can still take credit for having the shortest song title! The kids in our church like to sing the famous old spiritual that goes "God's not dead, No, He is alive!" and I've included a similar reference in this song as well. There are many references to the living God in the Bible including Leviticus 26:12, Matthew 22:31-33, 2 Corinthians 3:3 and Luke 24:1-8.
